Long hair!

So, I have been able to braid her hair for a little while now I guess, but just started doing it about 2 weeks ago. I promised my mom that I would take some pictures of her hair so she could see. It is just so difficult to get Emily to sit still long enough to braid it. Luckily, today she didn't take a nap because we were out shopping too late, so after her bath tonight, she was really tired and didn't want to get up and run around! Of course, then to get her to stand still long enough to get a picture was a whole other story! She likes to ham it up for the camera, so when I made her turn around, she had a fit. This is her crying because she couldn't get her picture taken!! She soon got over it when I walked her over to the patio door to see uncle Rob working on the patio. It just amazes me to see pictures of her from just a few months ago and now and to see how much she has grown, not just her hair, but just her in general. She is so smart for her age too. She loves counting....but only 1 and 2, and then 9 and 8 backwords. She doesn't know any other numbers! Today, I watched her stack blocks from smallest to largest, then stack them back inside of each other to put them away from largest to smallest. She did it all on her own and even had a stack for the smaller blocks in one stack and the bigger ones in another until she got the middle blocks gathered up. I usually have to show her once and then she does it. Amazes me how she picks up on things so quickly.
And for the life of me I can't get her to sit and watch cartoons or anything while I attempt to get something done and not have her attached to my hip. I put on cartoons, she stays interested until I leave room. But tonight, oh my goodness...Jen and I were watching Forrest Gump on Tv...yeah I know, but it was the only thing on...and Emily has sat there watching it for over an hour and is just so interested. I had to call my dad and tell him that his granddaughter is following in his footsteps! He loves that movie.
And, her favorite phrases are:
"Where's Wob?"
"Where's Jen"
"MOM!"
"Mommy"
"Put it back"
"Sit down"
"I like cheese"
"Mom, I made a biper (diaper)"
"Where is baby"
"Give tisses (Kisses)"
And her all time favorite and my least favorite, "NO!"

Outside fun

Yup, another wonderful day filled with sun. It has been so cold over here lately, any kind of warmth is taken advantage of! Emily and I went outside to take care of the new puppy, who she still calls Rusty which is the name of the other dog, but hopefully one day she will learn how to say Sandy! Emily is in charge of telling me when the dog has enough food and then she puts the dish next to Sandy. Then we fill up the water dish together. Well, today Emmy wanted nothing to do with the dog, she wanted to play outside. I turned around to look for her after I put the water dish down and she was on the top of the slide ready to slide down head first!!! Before I could say anything, down she went! It is amazing this child doesn't kill herself! She stood up, wiped herself off, (She hates to be dirty) and looked up at me, clapped and said "YAY!" And back up she went. I had to get some pictures of her doing it!

She finally made it to the top!

Yup, and she has even taken a liking to lounging in the chair just like me! Of course when I went to get a picture, she got up! But it was cute: arms above head, lounged back, legs crossed and eyes closed...it was too cute!

Too much sun!

I have the busiest 2 year old ever! Let me tell you...she is in the wholw whining faze and whines about EVERYTHING! When her cousins are home, she is tons better. She has someone to play with more her size and keep her entertained while I am attempting to get something done. So, this weekend was a 3 day weekend. We haven't had the best of weather lately, but this weekend was so sunny and warm outside that the kids got to play outside all weekend. Sunday we went outside around 11 am and were outside until almost 4! Emily's uncle Rob made the toy set outside a little more 2 year old safe so Emily could climb on it, slide down, swing, etc. The kids made a fort underneath the picnic tables with blankets and pillows. They ate lunch out there and had a blast. Poor Emily, she is so fair skinned that she burns so easily. Where she got this skin tone I will never know! Brought her inside around 4 and her poor little arms were burnt. She was being so crabby, mainly because I didn't have the heart to bring her inside to take a nap when she was having so much fun outside and she was in the sun quite a bit. I layed her on the couch to watch some cartoons while her Aunt and I went to town to get Subway for dinner. When I came back, this is what I found. My little angel who hates to take naps, just passed out on the couch. It was the sweetest thing ever, I had to get a picture of it. She just looked so sweet.

Her vocabulary is developing quite a bit as well. The other day she walked up to me and said, "Mommy, you're pretty." It was so sweet. Moments like that just melt my heart and make a horrible day so perfect. I take in every moment with her, even the bad and enjoy it so much. To realize how lucky I am to have her in my life.
