Since Emily has started sleeping in her big girl bed, she has been getting up at the crack of dawn, usually between 6 and 7, I usually get her diaper changed, get her breakfast, put up the gate, put on cartoons for her to watch and then I lay back down and try to take a nap. 6 am...way too early for me! So this morning Rob was working on the computer and Emmy climbed up on the couch with me and took a nap with me. I just thought this was the sweetest picture and captured how sweet she can be!

And this is her "eating" her breakfast. I have now gotten to the point of just giving her dry cereal and a cup of milk...a lot easier to clean up! But lately it has been so difficult to even get her to eat. All she wants to eat is junk food and nothing healthy. Yesterday she literally only ate 1/2 cup of dry cereal and a handful of fries that she shared with her uncle Rob for lunch. She would touch her sandwich, she wouldn't touch her dinner. She wanted to only eat junk food. Rather than giving her the junk food, I just let her go hungry. I felt horrible for not feeding her, but I didn't want her to get the idea that it is ok to eat only junk. If she gets into this pattern at this young of an age, it will only continue. I really hope that I am not the only parent that goes through this! Today she has done a lot better....she ate a piece of toast for breakfast and a hamburger for dinner. I was very happy she finally ate something. This child of mine is so incredibly picky!

My angels sleeping:)I can't imagine that Emily would be a picky eater... what a surprise. Try fresh fruit. Love you guys.
You two are so adorable, sleeping on the couch together, awww. I remember when my niece hit the picky stage, luckily she went out of it just as quickly as she went into it.
You're not the only one- it's hard to get kids to eat! They won't let themselves starve though. Going hungry a few times will let her know that she doesn't have a choice and you're the boss. If you make hamburgers and she likes them- try mixing in shredded zucchini. They can't even tell. Also Morningstar Farms make veggie chicken nuggets that taste like mcDonald's... so I give those to the kids.
