Happy Mornings

Since Emily has started sleeping in her big girl bed, she has been getting up at the crack of dawn, usually between 6 and 7, I usually get her diaper changed, get her breakfast, put up the gate, put on cartoons for her to watch and then I lay back down and try to take a nap. 6 am...way too early for me! So this morning Rob was working on the computer and Emmy climbed up on the couch with me and took a nap with me. I just thought this was the sweetest picture and captured how sweet she can be!

And this is her "eating" her breakfast. I have now gotten to the point of just giving her dry cereal and a cup of milk...a lot easier to clean up! But lately it has been so difficult to even get her to eat. All she wants to eat is junk food and nothing healthy. Yesterday she literally only ate 1/2 cup of dry cereal and a handful of fries that she shared with her uncle Rob for lunch. She would touch her sandwich, she wouldn't touch her dinner. She wanted to only eat junk food. Rather than giving her the junk food, I just let her go hungry. I felt horrible for not feeding her, but I didn't want her to get the idea that it is ok to eat only junk. If she gets into this pattern at this young of an age, it will only continue. I really hope that I am not the only parent that goes through this! Today she has done a lot better....she ate a piece of toast for breakfast and a hamburger for dinner. I was very happy she finally ate something. This child of mine is so incredibly picky!

Tub time

So, to give you an idea of how dirty this child can get after playing outside, here is a picture of her hand!!! Her whole entire body looks like this after playing outside! Thought that I would take a picture of her playing, she has too much fun.

And finally....I had talked to my parents this afternoon and found out that my ex brother-in-law took my nephew back to New York with him to live there. My parents are completely crushed and never got to say goodbye. He just up and left without letting anyone know. So, missing their grandchildren, I decided to take a video of Emily singing in the tub! So, mom and dad...I made this video just for you!!!

Sandbox

So the other day Emily played in a sandbox for the very first time. I HATE her getting dirty. So, I have purposly avoided sandboxes! Well, not knowing there was a sandbox under the playset, Tina and Emmy played in it! By the time I saw what they were doing, Emmy was already VERY dirty!
So, some of the sand ended up in her mouth...by accident! Then, she stuck her fingers in her mouth to try to get it out! Yeah, it was messy!
So, this is later in the afternoon after I changed her out of her skirt and into shorts. This is how dirty she was after 5 minutes! Needless to say, by 3 o'clock she was in the tub! She had so much sand in her hair, her legs and arms were so covered in dirt, and you could hardly see her face! But, I was prou dof myself, I actually let her get dirty!!!

Pretty Princess

So Emily has made claim on Tina's old Cinderella dress and loves to look pretty in it! So, this morning I changed her diaper, she ate breakfast and after she was all done, I put her in her princess dress. She was even talking to Rusty and showing Rusty how pretty her dress was at the gate on the stairs. I think Rusty just needed to go out and go potty!!!

And I shall learn, but I shot this video of her dancing....however you cannot rotate the movie clip! So it is sideways, but completely hilarious!!

Chocolate!

Jen and I were hungry for some brownies and decided to make some. I had just finished mixing the batter when Emily was whining for some chocolate. Now, for any of you that know me, you know what I HATE it when she gets dirty. Last night I decided, what the heck, she needs a bath really soon any ways, why not make it good! So, I gave her to whisk to lick. Oh my goodness...you would think she had stuck her head inside of the bowl and licked it clean by the time she was doen licking the whisk! Jen had to take pictures for me since I was in the kitchen finishing up dishes and things. So here is proof that I actually let her get dirty!
After he much needed bath! Jen took a picture of her hair to show how long it is getting. Not that you couldn't tell by the picture of her and her braids, but this is her hair full length. She is eating a granola bar that grandma Sue brought over for her.
And after I had brushed her hair, she didn't want to put on pajamas because she was busy eating her granola bar and she was kind of warm. So, she ran around the house for over a hour in just her diaper. She likes to stick out her belly, why, I don't know, but she does! So, this is her sticking out her belly!

Dress Up

Again, all of the cute things seem to happen when I am gone! Jen and I had gone to town to get dinner, when Emily and Tina decided to play dress up! Rob said that it took a whole bunch of photos to get some good ones of Emily because she was not in the picture taking mood. But the few pictures that he did get were just priceless!

Big girl bed!

My baby is all grown up! She has her very own toddler bed now! I almost cried while making her bed! Her bedtime is in a hour...then the fun will begin! I left the pack n play up next to her big girl bed just in case tonight gets to be too much. She was so excited while I was making the bed, I put the mattress pad on, she had to get on the bed. Then, she got off when I had to put the sheet on, and then got back on it. She pointed at all of her babies and stuffed animals that she wanted and put them on the bed. Then she layed down with her blanket and kept saying it was her bed! VERY depressing for me, but she is so excited about it!

She didn't take a nap today, so bedtime is around 7-7:30 when she doesn't take a nap. I figured tonight since I had to get her accustomed to her new bed, I wo uld go for 7. She walked downstairs, was so excited to see her bed. She got right into bed, got all of her stuffed animals and put them where she wanted them. I covered her up with the quilt and then her blanket. And then, it hit...the reality of her not sleeping in her old bed. She saw it sitting there at the foot of her new bed and wanted in. She pointed to it and said, "Mommy, my bed." I had to try to explain to her that she was in her new big girl bed and showed her where all of her stuff was. She wanted NOTHING to do with the new bed. She cried and cried. I had to sit with her for 15 minutes until she was calm. She fell asleep for about 20 minutes and then woke up. I went back down there and she was sitting up in bed crying. Her bear had fallen onto the floor and she couldn't reach it. So, I tucked her back into bed and now hopefully she is out for the night. I am not quite sure who is having more of a difficult time with this...her or me!!!
